Paperless Post services are provided to you by Paperless Inc., a U.S. company and its subsidiaries and affiliates (“Paperless Post”, “we”, “us” and/or “our”) through its website located at www.paperlesspost.com (including mobile sites and mobile applications, the “Site”). This Privacy Policy is incorporated by reference into the our Terms of Service [https://www.paperlesspost.com/info/terms/updated-global-terms-of-service]. Your access to and use of this Site is subject to the Terms of Service.

      Paperless Post provides Site visitors (“users”, “you”, or “your” with customizable online event invitation and social stationery (“Stationery”) service, including a digital event management and follow-up communications platform, and a corresponding offline custom web-to- print stationery (each a “Service”, collectively, the “Paperless Post Services”). When you use Paperless Post Services you trust us with your information, including but not limited to personally identifiable data, such as your name, email address, postal address, phone number and credit card information, IP address, your address book and your photographs, and your User Content (defined below) (collectively, “Personal Data”), and other information that is collected from Site visitors. This Privacy Policy is meant to help you understand what data we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it.

 

Information we collect

    When you interact with Paperless Post through the Site, we may collect and store Personal Data and other information from you, as further described below:
      • Information you give us
        • Your Personal Data : We collect and store Personal Data from you when you voluntarilyprovide such information, such as when you contact us with inquiries, respond to one of oursurveys, register for an account to access the Paperless Post Services, purchase products onthe Site, upload your address book, post photographs or use the Paperless Post Services tocreate Paperless Post correspondence, including event invitations, save-the- dates, cards,personalized stationery and announcements (both digital and web-to- print, collectively“Stationery” or “Card”), and send, receive and/or respond to any digital Stationery andfollow-up communications through the Service.
        • Personal Data about others: We collect and store Personal Data about other people that youprovide to us through your use of the Paperless Post Services. We use guests’ contactinformation to, among other things, allow them to respond to and comment on your PaperlessPost Stationery, and at your request, send follow-up communication. At your direction, theevent page may include a public guest list displaying the names of invited guests to all otherguest or receivers. Any of your guests may request that you delete their name from a publicguest list by messaging you through the Service, or your guest may emailhelp@paperlesspost.com and request to be removed from the event page. Other than as described in this Privacy Policy or with your prior consent, Paperless Post will not sell orotherwise intentionally disclose your guest contact information to any third party.
      • Information others share about you
        • We receive certain Personal Data about you from other users when they upload your contact information, send you Stationery, post a photo of you, or tag you in a photo from an event that you attended, or comment, message or provide other information about you on the event page. In addition,an event host may have co-hosts, who are able to see the primary host’s event tracking page, which may contain your name and email address. You may request that your name be deleted from an eventpage public guest list by messaging the host through the Service, or emailing help@paperlesspost.com. If you are tagged in any Event Photos (as defined below), you can request to be untagged by messaging the host through the Service or emailing help@paperlesspost.com.
          • User Content and Event Photos: We may also collect and store Personal Data intendedfor public consumption that you or others upload, post, publish, or display on the Site,including photos from an event (“Event Photos”), comments, likes, text, video, messages,graphics, or other materials (“User Content”).
          • Demographic or other data: We may also collect and store demographic or other data,such as age, gender, zip code or similar information, from you when you voluntarilyprovide such information. We may also receive information about you from othersources, online or offline, and add it to the information you provided to us.
      • Information we get from your use of our Service
        • Unregistered Users: If you are not yet a registered Member of Paperless Post, but havereceived Stationery and responded or interacted with the Site, we collect informationincluding the history of Stationery you have received and events you attended. This datais associated with the receiver’s email address , mobile phone number, device identifieror any other identifier (“ Receiver”). Once a Receiver registers with the Site, he or shecan click on an invitation in their Post Box and see the applicable card and event page.
        • Device information: When you use the Site via a mobile device, we may collect andstore certain information about the device you are using, including, without limitation,the applicable device identifier. We may collect and use this information to help usmanage and improve the Paperless Post Services and deliver a more customizedexperience for you.
        • Location information: The web requests you make to Paperless Post contain your IPaddress. We may use such IP address for various purposes, including to: analyze andreport upon the usage of our Site and any content, features and services made availablethrough the Site; diagnose and prevent service or technology problems affecting out Site;determine geographic location you are accessing our Site; and monitor and prevent fraudand abuse. Certain services, disclosures, features and third party content made availablethrough the Paperless Post Services may only be available to users in certain geographiclocations. Your IP address may be used to determine your location in order to determinewhich services, disclosures, features, third party content will be available to you.
        • Cookies and similar technologies:
          • Automatically Collected Data: In addition to the Personal Data that we collect, whenyou interact with Paperless Post through the Site, we automatically receive and storecertain information about your visit and use of the Paperless Post Services(“Automatically Collected Data”). Automatically Collected Data is collectedpassively using various technologies such as web beacons that access or set cookies(see cookies below) and may be used to track usage of the Site, determine whetherStationery, messages or marketing emails have been opened or acted upon orcustomize Paperless Post Services. If you have receive Paperless Post Stationery orhave a registered account, we may associate Automatically Collected Data with yourPersonal Data. Paperless Post may store such Automatically Collected Data itself orthe Automatically Collected Data may be included in databases owned andmaintained by Paperless Post affiliates, agents or service providers. The Site may useand share such Automatically Collected Data and pool it with other information totrack, for example, the total number of visitors to our Site, the number of visitors toeach page of our Site, and the domain names of our visitors’ Internet serviceproviders. We may share Automatically Collected Data with our affiliates and ourcurrent or prospective business partners, but do not share Automatically CollectedData that can be used to identify you. We do not share Personal Data with thirdparties except as described in this Privacy Policy.
          • Cookies: In operating the Site, we may use standard technologies, including“cookies.” A cookie is a piece of information that the computer that hosts our Sitegives to your browser when you access the Site. Our cookies help provide additionalfunctionality to the Site and help us analyze Site usage more accurately. For instance,our Site may set a cookie on your browser that allows you to access the Site withoutneeding to remember and then enter a password more than once during a visit to theSite. In all cases in which we use cookies, we will not collect Personal Data exceptwith your permission, which you may set through your web browser. On most webbrowsers, you will find a “help” section on the toolbar. Please refer to this section forinformation on how to receive notification when you are receiving a new cookie andhow to turn cookies off. We recommend that you leave cookies turned on becausethey allow you to take advantage of some of the Site’s features.
    • Information through third party services
      • Facebook Login: You can login to our Site using Facebook Login. Facebook Login willauthenticate your identity and share your email address with us which we can use tocreate an account for you. If you connect with our Site using your Facebook credentialswe may collect certain information consistent with your privacy settings that you makeavailable such as your birthday. Any data that you share or post on Facebook is governedby Facebook’s privacy policy and terms of service. We do not post information onFacebook on your behalf or share information about you with Facebook without yourpermission.
      • Text Messaging Services: Paperless Post offers event reminder services through a text message short code to hosts and event guests who elect to provide their mobile numbersin order to receive such communications. These messages are processed through a third-party vendor called Twilio and mobile phone numbers provided to the Service for this purpose will be shared with Twilio. Twilio has more information about their privacy practices on their website. Any guest who elects to use text message services is subject to Paperless Post Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy.

        Users who elect to receive text messages through the Service may be charged standard text messaging rates by their telecommunications service provider as set forth in the plansthey have in effect with such telecommunication service provider. Any such statement ofcharges or billing from a user’s telecommunications service provider is in no way connected to Paperless Post.

        • 1. If you are located in the US or Canada, text STOP, CANCEL, or UNSUBSCRIBE inreply to any SMS message from that class/group, or
        • 2. If you are in the US, text STOP, CANCEL, or UNSUBSCRIBE to Paperless Post at 53079.

How we use information we collect

Paperless Post uses the Personal Data it collects to provide Paperless Post Services for you to create customStationery, sent and received, and provide an archive of all Paperless Post Services created, sent, received,responded to, and attended in your account history which you can access on the Site. Other than asdescribed in this Privacy Policy or with your prior consent, Paperless Post will not sell the Personal Data or guest contact information you submit to the Site to any third party.

 

 

Information you share

Paperless Post Services let’s you share information with others through Paperless Post Stationery and the event page including messages, follow-up communications, Event Photos and User Content.

 

Information we share

Paperless Post is not in the business of selling Personal Data. We consider privacy an important part of ourrelationship with you. However Personal Data is shared in providing Paperless Post Services to you as setforth below:

  • To provide and improve the Paperless Post Services
    • Your Personal Data: We use your Personal Data to provide the Paperless Post Services. If you provide Personal Data in order to register with Paperless Post,we will use your Personal Data to provide you access to such Services, to monitor your use of such Services and to contact you regarding your use of such Services. If you provide Personal Data for a certain reason, we may use thePersonal Data in connection with the reason for which it was provided. For instance, where you send Paperless Post Stationery including any follow-upcommunication through Paperless Post, we will identify you to the recipient asthe sender of the email. If you contact us by email, we will use the Personal Data you provide to answer your question or resolve your problem. If you make a purchase on the Site, Paperless Post or its authorized service provider may use financial information or payment method to process such payment, to protect against or identify possible fraudulent transactions, and otherwise as needed to manage our business.
    • Personal Data about others: We use Personal Data about others to providePaperless Post Services in sending, receiving and responding to Stationery. If you create and send a Paperless Post online invitation, an event page will becreated to include the invitation and all relevant event information you have provided. You control whether the guest list, guest responses and comments are public to all the other invited guests or private to you. For any event with a public guest list, the names of guests may be displayed to other guests invited tothe event, unless a guest contacts you to request you remove their name from the list or emails help@paperlesspost.com. You or guest who is a logged-in Member can upload Event Photos to the event page. Any guest on an event page can view, comment and “tag” people. Paperless Post will notify a guest when theyare tagged in an Event Photos and the guest can request to be untagged bycontacting the host or emailing help@paperlesspost.com.

       

      Paperless Post may also combine guest list information among all events toidentify the number of times any two event guests have attended the same events. Members may have access in their account history to certain informationon other guests, such as the number of events the Member and that guest haveattended events together. If you do not consent to us disclosing such information to your co-attendees, please email us at help@paperlesspost.com.

       

      Paperless Post may use guests’ contact information to offer guests theopportunity to contact each other through the Site. Paperless Post will provideguests with the means to communicate with one another through the Site, butwill not disclose any guest’s email address to another guest, unless the guestaffirmatively opts-in to accept a specific guest’s request for his or her emailaddress.

       

      Any User Content that you post to the Site may be displayed to other users; forexample, if a guest forwards their online invitation to a third party, the third-party will be able to view the User Content on the event page. We are notresponsible for the privacy practices of other users who may view your UserContent, so do not post any User Content that you wish to keep private.
    • Site analytics: Paperless Post and its subsidiaries and affiliates may also useyour Personal Data and other information collected through the Site for analytics for the internal purpose of improving Paperless Post Services including content and functionality,and to better understand our users..
    • Transactional and marketing communications from Paperless Post: If yourinteraction with the Site includes providing your email and/or another person’semail, Paperless Post may use those emails to send you transactional emails regarding your account and use of the Services, including sending andresponding to Stationery, and follow-up communications when you use the Sitefor that purpose. If you become a Member or are a Receiver you agree to the receipt of marketing messages from the Paperless Post, Paperless Post, its subsidiaries and affiliates may use Personal Data to tell you about services youhave expressed interest in, or we believe you will be interested in the future. In certain jurisdictions, you may be required to expressly opt-in in order to receivemarketing messages from Paperless Post, its subsidiaries and affiliates. All email-based marketing communications sent by Paperless Post will contain instructions permitting you to “opt-out” of receiving all future communications or some part thereof. In addition, if at any time you wish to not receive any future communications or you wish to have your name deleted from our email marketing mailing list, please contact help@paperlesspost.com.If Paperless Post intends on using any Personal Data in any manner that is not consistent with this Privacy Policy, you will be informed of such anticipated use prior to or at the time at which the Personal Data is collected.
  • For external processing
    • Aggregated Data: In an effort to understand and serve the needs of the usersPaperless Post Services, Paperless Post analyzes customer demographics,interests and behavior based on the Personal Data and other informationprovided to us. This research may be compiled and analyzed on an aggregatebasis(the “Aggregate Data”), and Paperless Post may share this Aggregate Data with its affiliates, agents and business partners. Paperless Post may also discloseAggregate Data in order to describe our services to current and prospectivebusiness partners, and to other third parties for other lawful purposes.
    • Agents, consultants and related third parties:Paperless Post, like many businesses, sometimes hires other companies to perform certain business-relatedfunctions. Examples of such functions include print fulfillment, mailings,maintaining databases, analyzing data, marketing, and processing payments.When we do retain another company, we only provide them with theinformation that they need to perform their specific function, and they may only use such information for our benefit and the purposes for which they were engaged.
    • Business transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, due diligence,reorganization, bankruptcy, receivership, sale of company assets or transition ofservice to another provider, your information, including Personal Data, may be sold or transferred as part of such a transaction as permitted by law and/orcontract.
  • For legal reasons

    Information security

    Paperless Post takes reasonable steps (including physical, electronic and procedural measures) to protect the Personal Data provided via the Site from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration,or destruction. Paperless Post uses industry-standard SSL-encryption to protect data transmissions. Please note that this is not a guarantee that such information may not be accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed by breach of such firewalls and secure server software. No Internet or email transmission or electronic storage of information is ever fully secure or error free. In particular, information sent to or from this Sitevia email may not be secure. Therefore, you should take special care in deciding what information you sendvia the Site or the Paperless Post Services. Please keep this in mind when disclosing any Personal Data to Paperless Post via the Internet.     When this Privacy Policy applies

    This Privacy Policy applies when you are using or visiting Paperless Post Sites and Services globally,except if you reside in a European Economic Area country (“EEA”) there is a separate Paperless Post EUPrivacy Policy that applies to the Personal Data and other information that is collected from EEA residentsin connection with their use of the Site.

     

    If you are using or visiting the Site from a country outside the United States, you acknowledge and agreethat Personal Data and other information may be transferred from your current location to the offices andservers of Paperless Post and its authorized third-party business vendors located globally, including in theUnited States, and processed globally. By accessing the Site, using the Paperless Post Services, orotherwise providing your information to Paperless Post, you consent to any transfer and processing in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

     

    Children

    Paperless Post does not knowingly collect Personal Data from children under the age of 13. If you areunder the age of 13, please do not submit any Personal Data through the Site. We encourage parents andlegal guardians to monitor their children’s Internet usage and to help enforce our Privacy Policy by instructing their children never to provide Personal Data on this Site without their permission. If you have reason to believe that a child under the age of 13 has provided Personal Data to Paperless Post through this Site, please contact us, and we will endeavor to delete that information from our databases.
