If you are accessing our site from a computer, then you can choose the Upload (.csv, .xls) option from your mailing's Add guests / Add recipients page to upload a spreadsheet.
Please download our spreadsheet template here to get started (you may need to right-click the link to copy and paste into a new window if your browser is blocking your download). This template can be opened and edited using Excel, Numbers, Google Sheets, or the spreadsheet program of your choice.
Formatting your spreadsheet
You can start a new list using our template. The spreadsheet can either have 2 columns with the correct "Name" and "Email" headers, or 3 columns with the correct "First Name," "Last Name" and "Email" headers. It must also be saved as a .csv or .xlsx file for uploading.
To include additional guests or plus ones for each guest, you'll need to add a column named “Total Invited” to the spreadsheet. From there, you can specify the total number invited for each guest in the spreadsheet and make sure that your event is already set up to allow additional guests (you can do this in Event Details). You'll be able to enter any number between 1 and 10, as long as it's not more than the Total Invited number entered in Event Details (for example, if “allow guests to bring additional guests” is toggled off on the event, but the spreadsheet specifies 3 Total Invited for some guests, all guests will still be imported with 1 Total Invited.)
To include personal messages for guests, you can add a column named “Message” to the spreadsheet. You'll be able to enter a private message for as many guests as you want there. If you enter a private message exceeding the maximum 200 characters, that guest will fail to upload, and you’ll see a message that the guest was formatted incorrectly
You may type or paste your contacts into the template, however. Please note that at a minimum the "Email" column needs to be completed for all entries.
Re-formatting an existing .xls/.xlsx/Google spreadsheet to a .csv file
It's no problem to use an existing list as the starting place for your event. Please note you will need a "Name" column and an "Email" column set up exactly as shown above to mirror our template.
Once your .xls/.xlsx spreadsheet is complete, save your file as a .csv file by going to File > Save As... Then under File Format: go to Comma Separated Values (.csv) and then Save.
Please save your .csv files by following these steps, as simply re-typing or typing over a file's extension to change it (i.e. .xls/.xlsx to .csv) may cause upload issues.
Or, once your Google sheet is complete, save your file as a .csv file by going to File > Download As > Comma-separated values (.csv, current sheet).
Please note that the option to upload spreadsheets is not currently available on mobile at this time.
Can I add recipient phone numbers using a spreadsheet to send text message invitations?
Due to industry anti-spam laws, SMS recipients must be added one at a time or imported from previous mailing lists, and cannot be imported using the spreadsheet import option.
If you need further assistance, please send your spreadsheet file to us — we're happy to take a look!
