What is a Maximum Capacity? What happens when it is reached?

The Maximum Capacity is the total number of RSVPs that you can accept for your event.  This is useful if your event has limited space, or if you need to stop accepting new RSVPs by a certain date - you are not required to enter a maximum capacity.

To set your event's maximum capacity, first scroll to the bottom of your Enter Details page and toggle the “set maximum capacity” option on (it will appear in blue when it's on).  Then enter the number of RSVPs you want to accept and click “save.”  Please note that you cannot set the maximum capacity for a number lower than your current headcount.

Once you send your invitation and the maximum capacity has been reached, your guests will no longer be able to submit RSVPs.  Instead, when they view the invitation they will see a message indicating that the event’s capacity has been reached, and to reach out to the host for more information.  You can update the event capacity information at the top of your Tracking page.

If you have an “RSVP by” date, you can close RSVPs by returning to your Enter Details page and turning on the “set maximum capacity” option when that date allows.
