Once you've finished customizing a design, creating a guest list and sending an invitation through Paperless Post is easy. All of our designs are able to be sent as an email, text message, or Shareable Link.
This article dives into how to create a recipient list and send directly via email (anywhere) or text (within US States/Canadian provinces) through Paperless Post. If you prefer to send the invitation from your own email, phone, or messaging app, you can read more about using a Shareable Link.
How to create a recipient list
You can manually add recipients to your mailing list one by one, or you can use any of our four options to bulk add email recipients:
- Add recipients one by one
- Add guests from your Paperless Post Address Book
- Add guests using a past event's list
- Upload a spreadsheet
- Paste a list of names and emails
If you’re bulk adding recipient email addresses, the site will show you the duplicates and ask you to add only one instance of the email address.
If you've started making your guest list and need go back to edit your invitation, you can hit "Save and Close" or "Close" in the top left of the screen to save your progress, and then click "Edit" on the next page to navigate back to the invitation editor.
Importing phone numbers for text message sending
If you prefer to send your invite directly through our site via SMS rather than email, you can add guest names and phone numbers one by one from your Invite Guests page, on our desktop site or mobile web.
You can also import multiple SMS guests that were used on past mailing lists by clicking Past list from your Invite Guests page.
If you'd like to add SMS contacts from your phone's contact list in bulk, we recommend using our app.
On the iOS or Android app
If you're working from the app, you can select New Contact to add a new guest's email or phone number manually. You can also add phone numbers that are already saved to your phone contacts by selecting Contacts:
Please note that we are only able to deliver to mobile phone numbers in US States and Canadian provinces at this time. If you are sending multiple invites or messages to the same number across different events, we recommend waiting at least one minute in between each send to prevent your message from being blocked due to carrier restrictions.
How to Send
If you wish to send your card directly through Paperless Post via email or text message, you will need to navigate to your Add Guests page. Once you finish editing card text, entering event details, RSVP settings, and editing page style, you can click Add Guests from your Create page to move forward and begin adding guests.
If you are returning to your already-created card, you can select Add Guests from your Tracking page.
From there, once you've added your recipients and you're ready to send, click the blue "Send" button at the top right corner of the page:
All cards are sent from the address paperlesspost@paperlesspost.com, but you can change the Sender/From name at the top of your Add Guests/ Add Recipients page.
