Once you've finished customizing a design, sending an invitation through Paperless Post is easy — and the majority of our designs are able to be sent as an email, text message, or shareable link.
Am I designing a Card, Flyer, or Legacy Card?
Flyers have a different layout from Cards — if the invitation is split into two distinct sections with editable text on the left and an animated image on the right, it is a Flyer.
You can check the top left corner of the page to tell if your Card is a Legacy Card- any Legacy cards will show the word LEGACY next to our pigeon logo.
Card and Flyer: How to create a recipient list
You can manually add recipients individually to your mailing list, or you have three options to bulk add email recipients:
- Paste a list of names and emails directly onto your card
- Upload a spreadsheet directly to your card
- Add guests directly from your Paperless Post Address Book
If you’re bulk adding recipient email addresses, the site will show you the duplicates and ask you to add only one instance of the email address.
Please note that due to industry anti-spam laws, bulk import options are not available for phone numbers at this time.
Card and Flyer: Importing phone numbers for text message sending
If you prefer to send your invite directly through our site via SMS rather than email, SMS contacts can be added one at a time from your Invite Guests page from our desktop site or mobile web. You can also import multiple SMS guests that were used on past mailing lists by clicking Contacts from your Invite Guests page.
If you're working from the app, you can only add phone numbers that are already saved to your phone contacts or were used on a past mailing list.
Please note that we are only able to deliver to mobile phone numbers in US States and Canadian provinces at this time. If you are sending multiple invites or messages to the same number, we recommend waiting at least one minute in between each send to prevent your message from being blocked due to carrier restrictions.
Card and Flyer: How to Send
If you wish to send your card directly through Paperless Post via email or text message, you will need to navigate to your Add Guests page. Once you finish editing card text, entering event details, RSVP settings, and editing page style, you can click Add Guests from your Create page to move forward and begin adding guests. If you are returning to your already-created card, you can select Add Guests from your Manage Tracking page.
All cards are sent from the address paperlesspost@paperlesspost.com, but you can change the Sender/From name at the top of your Add Guests/ Add Recipients page.
Legacy Card: How to create a guest list
You can manually add recipients individually to your card, or you have three options to bulk add recipients.
To create your mailing list:
- Paste a list of names and emails directly onto your card
- Upload a spreadsheet directly to your card
- Add guests directly from your Paperless Post Address Book
If you’re bulk adding recipient email addresses, the site will show you the duplicates and ask you to add only one instance of the email address.
You can review the guests you've entered as well as the number of emails, and edit your unsent guest list if you need to before sending.
How do I personalize the envelope?
The recipient name associated with each email address is what will appear on the envelope, and throughout the event. Each envelope name is limited to 255 characters.
You can add a personal note to individual guests. The note will appear at the top of the email that your recipients receive, above the card image.
How can I edit my unsent guest list?
To remove individual guests from your unsent list, click the check box to the left of the guest, then click the "Delete selected guest" button that appears.
To select all guests, hover over the area above the checkboxes to reveal a checkbox to select all.
How can I move my unsent guest list to another card?
To export your unsent list, click the "Guest list options" menu, and click "Export guest list".
This will save a copy of your list to your computer, which you can review, or upload to another card.
