We have two ways to send your Card or Flyer:
- Create a guest list directly on our site and send via email (anywhere) or text (US States/Canadian Provinces)
- Create a Shareable Link to distribute from your own email, messaging app, or social media.
If you want to distribute your mailing from your own messaging channels, read on to learn more about the Shareable Link.
What is a Shareable Link?
You can create a Shareable Link for your mailing that you can share with guests from your own email, messaging app, or social media. You can access the option to create a Shareable Link after editing your design when you proceed to add guests. The Shareable Link is also available to access on your host Manage page.
The Shareable Link is a great way to distribute your Card or Flyer outside of our platform—text it to a friend, post it on your socials, send it to a WhatsApp group, etc. While you won't be able to track Sends and Opens, anybody who has the link will be able to view your Card or Flyer and submit an RSVP (if you are collecting them). Once they RSVP, they will display on your Manage page. If you need to track which guests have been invited or which invites have been delivered and opened, we recommend sending directly through our site.
If you have chosen a free Card or Flyer, there is no cost to generate a Shareable Link. If you have chosen any premium design elements, your Shareable Link will be priced accordingly. When you click Share Link, you will be prompted to purchase a Coin package if you don’t already have enough Coins in your account.
The Shareable Link is a separate option from sending direct through our site. You can choose to use both methods of sending together, but the cost of the Shareable Link is separate from the cost of any direct sends.
Create the Shareable Link from a computer
After editing your design, you can proceed to Add Guests/Recipients, then select Share via Link to open the options to share it from your own email, text message, Facebook, or WhatsApp:
You also can select Share Link from your Card or Flyers's Manage page:
This will bring you to the Invite Guests page, where you can view all options for generating and sharing your link:
After publishing the link, you can copy and paste the Shareable Link into any messaging app, social media, or your own email draft to share with guests from your side. Guests can RSVP after opening the link. Their responses will be recorded on the Tracking page for the event.
Once a link is shared outside of our platform, anyone with access to the Shareable Link will be able to see your invitation and event details, and reply. There is not a way to see who has forwarded, shared, or opened the link.
Create the Shareable Link from the iOS/Android App and Mobile web browser
After finishing your design on the Paperless Post app, you can select the Add guests button:
From the Add Guests page that opens, select the Share Link tab:
If your Card or Flyer costs Coins, you may need to purchase Coins to obtain the link. You can then copy and paste the Shareable Link into any messaging app, social media, or your own email draft to share with guests from your side. Guests can RSVP after opening the link. Their responses will be recorded on the Manage page for the event.
Encourage guests to share the link with others
If you would like to make it easy for guests to share the link to your event with their network, you can enable a share button on the event page after creating your Shareable Link. Once you've published the link, you will see an option to allow guests to share the link:
This setting will appear blue when toggled on, and grey when toggled off. Allowing guests to share the event link will add a share button on the header of your event page:
Guests can select this button to see their sharing options and send the event link to others from there.
If you've paid for your Shareable Link using Coins, any guests who RSVP through the link will be deducted from the count that you provided when you published the link. If you have a Paperless Pro subscription, any guests who RSVP though the link will be deducted from your annual guest allotment.
Please note, it is always possible for a guest to forward the Shareable Link to your invitation once they've received it, but this setting enables the easy-to-access sharing button that encourages this type of interaction from all of your guests, whether they were invited via the Shareable Link or directly through Paperless Post.
If you do not wish for guests to forward or share the Shareable Link, we recommend leaving this setting off, and adding a note stating "This invitation is non-transferrable" within the event description or details below.
