When you send paid-for Cards and Flyers, you can either
- pay for them with Coins, which are the virtual credits we use on Paperless Post, or
- pay via a subscription
You can quickly calculate the cost of your event by using the calculator on our Pricing Page, or you can read on for the nitty-gritty details.
How do I tell if I am designing a Card or Flyer?
Cards and Flyers have different layouts.
Cards are stationery-inspired and include a Card image overlaid on a backdrop, and often include an envelope and liner.
A Flyer is a modular event page that is split into two sections, with image or video content placed either above or to the right of the event details depending on whether it is viewed on mobile or desktop.
Free and Paid-for Cards and Flyers
Paperless Post offers free and paid-for Card and invitation designs (referred to here as “Cards”). A Card or Flyer is paid-for if:
- The Card or Flyer itself is designated with a starting price on the site (For example, if you select a design partner Card, you will see a note under the Card title indicating the starting price of 2 Coins)
-
You add an optional design element designated as paid-for to any Card or Flyer. You can see the cost per recipient on the Create page header panel update as you add or remove paid-for features:
All paid-for Card designs start at 2 Coins per Card sent. If you add additional design elements to any Card that change the Feature Set you're in, it will add Coins to the price per Card sent.
The sending limit for a single Event sent directly via the Paperless Post site is 5,000 email addresses and/or phone numbers.
We offer a pricing calculator that lists the cost of the different design elements we offer.
Feature Set Pricing
Our Card and Flyer pricing is available in Feature Sets, where bundles of design and event management features are grouped together. The four feature sets available are Free, Basic, Premium, and All-Access. Paperless Post offers some designs that are free for up to 50 recipients, and some that have a cost to send.
Any free Card or Flyer design will have access to the Free feature set in addition to the option to upgrade to Basic, Premium and All-Access. Any Card or Flyer designs that have a baseline cost to send will have access to the Basic, Premium, and All-Access feature sets.
You can see whether a design is eligible to be sent for free to up to 50 recipients, or if it starts in the Basic feature set when you select any design, before you begin customizing:
Each feature set comes with a bundle of design and event management tools, which can be compared in the Compare Pricing modal within the editor:
How do I determine the cost of my Card or Flyer?
As you're designing your Card or Flyer, the cost of the design will appear in the top banner of your Create page. You can select the Coin cost to view a drop-down list of the pricing. You can also select the "Calculate cost to send" button to get an estimate for the amount of coins you may need for your sending:
You can also add and remove elements such as envelopes and backdrops from your design directly from this modal by selecting the pencil icon next to the element you’d like to edit.
Free Sending for a Free Card or Flyer:
- Via the Paperless Post Site:
If you are sending a Free Card or Flyer by email or text through the Paperless Post Site, there is no Coin charge for the first 50 guests. This sending method allows you to track your guests' interaction with the invitations (opens and bounces), and provides access to all event management tools for RSVP reminders and guest follow ups.
- Via posting a Shareable Link through your personal channels:
If you are distributing a Free Card or Flyer using a Shareable Link through any channel including, but not limited to, text message, email, social media, or messaging app, there is no Coin charge. Please note that because this distribution method is off the Paperless Post platform, we cannot track your guests’ open or bounce statuses. Once your guests RSVP to your invitation, Paperless Post will track attending and other event details on your invite Event Page.
Note if you have already sent or shared a Free Card with only free design elements, Premium Design options will no longer be available to add to your Card. If you used any Coins for your event, you will retain access to all Premium Design options and can change your Card design at any time. If you add any additional Premium Design elements after initially sending your Card, on any subsequent sends you will be prompted to pay for them.
Paid Sending for a Free Card or Flyer:
-
Via the Paperless Post Site:
If you are sending a Free Card or Flyer, and your event guest list has more than 50 emails or phone numbers, it will cost 1 Coin for each Card sent, beyond the first 50 free Cards. Coins can be purchased in any quantity as you need them, or in packages of 25, 100, 200, 300, 450, 600, and 1,000. Any unused Coins will be saved in your account and can be used for future events.
The total Coins needed to send to your guest list is the total Coin price of your design multiplied by the number of Cards or Flyers sent. Please note you can remove any or all optional paid-for elements from any Card to lower the final Coin price to send. As you are designing, you can keep track of the number of Coins necessary to send your Card with the Coin Calculator in the upper right hand corner of the page.
You will be prompted to make a Coin purchase before sending if you do not have enough Coins in your account. -
Via posting a Shareable Link through your personal channels:
If you’re distributing a Shareable Link to a paid-for Card, or a Card or Flyer with paid-for elements, additional Coins will be deducted from your account or you will be prompted to purchase the designated Coin package prior to sharing the link wherever you choose.
You can buy exactly the number of Coins needed for your recipient list if you check out from your Invite Guests page, or choose from one of our convenient Coin packages. Our handy Coin Calculator can help you estimate the cost of your Card or Flyer prior to purchase.
