When you add or edit the details of your event, you will have the option to add a location, which can include a link to a map. If you choose to include this link, the location information is automatically pulled in by Google Maps based on the address you enter.
Editing an incorrect map location
If you update the address to your event but the map location is linking incorrectly to the old location, you can fix it as follows:
- Hover over your name/email at the top-right corner of the homepage and choose My Events from the dropdown menu that appears.
-
Find the Card or Flyer you'd like to edit in your Recent Activity tab or Sent and Scheduled tab, select the 3 dots on the bottom right corner, then Edit Event Details:
-
From the Details panel that opens, scroll to the location and select Reset Address before making any other updates:
If you enter a new address without first selecting Reset Address, the map will continue to link to the old location.
- Once these fields are clear, enter the new event address and be sure to select Save when you are done editing.
Updating the event address and map location does not change the original invitation that guests received, so after updating the location we recommend sending a Broadcast Message to alert guests of any changes.
Please note that our site pulls all map location details directly from Google Maps. If Google is populating the wrong location for the address, you can also report the issue to Google by following these steps.
Adding a custom location
When you begin to type in a location, our site will populate a list of address suggestions based on the venue name. You can select one of these locations if correct, or you can add a custom address by selecting Add address manually:
From there, you can type in your preferred address, and check the box to include a map link if you'd like:
If you choose to include a map link, it will display the Google Maps link for the address you've entered. If you are entering a non-specific address such as "Our Home" without additional details, we recommend not including a map link.
Adding a virtual location
If you are hosting an event without a physical location, you can add a virtual location that includes a link for people to join a video call. To add a virtual location:
- Select the Location field from your Card or Flyer's details section
-
Check the box next to Virtual Location to enter your desired location and link:
Virtual invitations will not contain any map link by default.
