Virtual cards aren't just for email! Any Paperless Post Flyer or Card can be sent directly through our site via text message.
Please note that direct text message sending is only available for recipient phone numbers based in US States and Canadian Provinces at this time. For recipients outside of this area, you can still send your Card or Flyer via text as a shareable link.
Send via direct text message
Once you've finished designing your Card or Flyer and are ready to send it, you can add text message recipients from the same fields where you add email recipients on your Add Guests/Recipients page.
You can either add recipients one-by-one by typing in their names and phone numbers, or you can also import multiple SMS guests that were used on past mailing lists by clicking Contacts from your Invite Guests page.
Due to industry anti-spam laws, SMS recipients must be added one at a time or imported from previous mailing lists, and cannot be imported using the "Add a list" bulk import option.
Please note that we are only able to deliver to mobile phone numbers in US States and Canadian provinces at this time — you can still send to other numbers using a shareable link.
How will my text message appear for recipients?
Invitations sent via text message through our site may be sent from one of many phone numbers, and will always include a link beginning with "https://pp.events/"
If an envelope is included with the mailing, it will display along with the recipient's name that was entered on the Add Guests/Recipients page. For cards without envelopes and Flyers, the thumbnail of the invitation itself will display. An example of a Paperless Post text message invitation sent to an iPhone is shown below.
What number will my recipients receive the text message from?
Paperless Post send the direct text messages from several phone numbers, and your recipients may receive your mailing from different phone numbers, even for the same card or flyer.
If you'd like to make sure that your mailing comes from the same phone number, you can generate the Open Share link for your card or flyer. That way, you can send the link (and a custom message) from your own phone number. Please note, however, that the Open Share link is a general link that anyone can RSVP from, so it will not be personalized per recipient and you as the host will not be able to track who has opened the card or flyer until they submit an RSVP response.
